Dear Friends of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Omaha –
As Thanksgiving approaches, I’m filled with gratitude for the many blessings this year has brought – and chief among them is you. Your compassion and generosity helps make the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Omaha a vital source of hope for so many of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors.
With your support, we’re able to feed and clothe the homeless, assist families in keeping their homes warm and lit, and provide essential groceries through our downtown food pantry. Your kindness touches the lives of hundreds of individuals experiencing homelessness and hardship – and for that, we are profoundly thankful.
Your support changes lives.
We couldn’t do this without you. Nearly all of our financial support comes not from large grants or institutions, but from caring individuals – people like you who believe no one in our community should go without food, warmth, or hope.
This Thanksgiving, your gift will feed families.
While many of us gather with loved ones, some neighbors are simply hoping for a warm meal. That’s why I invite you to make a special Thanksgiving gift – knowing 100% of your donation will go directly to our food programs, including:

While many of us gather with loved ones, some neighbors are simply hoping for a warm meal. That’s why I invite you to make a special Thanksgiving gift – knowing 100% of your donation will go directly to our food programs, including:
- Our large downtown SSVP Choice Food Pantry, serving over 36,000 individuals and families each year, distributing more than $1 million in food.
- Our Meal Program, providing nearly 60,000 meals annually to Omaha’s homeless, hungry, and low-income neighbors – including elderly residents in senior housing.
Each dollar you give helps provide a meal for local families & individuals in need. With your support, we can make sure no one in our community is left behind this Thanksgiving.
And, as you may know, like many nonprofits, we’ve seen a decline in individual donations lately. That’s why year-end giving – especially during this season of Thanksgiving – is more important than ever. Your gift helps us continue serving those most in need, especially as winter and rising demand approach.
Your gift today can offer real hope to someone facing hardship – like Elizabeth, a single mother doing her best to care for her two young girls, Evelyn & Sarah. Or Theresa, a longtime homeless woman with mental health challenges, who’s lived on the streets for years and often depends on St. Vincent de Paul for the only meal she may have that day.

Your kindness brings more than food and safe housing for those we serve. It brings dignity, care, and renewed hope for their future.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful, peaceful, and blessed Thanksgiving.
