Thinking about donating your household items to our SSVP thrift stores? Thank You!
However, please check out our In-Kind Donation Guidelines:
Because the Society of St. Vincent de Paul sells items to support our programs that serve people in need, we cannot accept donations that we cannot sell. A good rule of thumb is “Would I give this item to a member of my family…and would I truly expect them to like it and use it." “Gently-used” and/or “In Good Working Condition” are guideline standards to think about, prior to making an in-kind donation to our SSVP Omaha thrift stores.

We welcome donations of gently-used clothing and linens as long as the items are not soiled, badly-stained, damp, smelly, infested, ripped, or otherwise in need of repair. Furniture and household goods should likewise be in good condition (i.e. not broken, scuffed, ripped, damp, smelly, infested). Electronics, appliances, and fitness equipment should be less than 10 years old and also be in good condition and not broken, missing parts or otherwise unusable.

​GRATEFULLY, WE ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING DONATION ITEMS AT OUR THRIFT STORES:

• Clothing, shoes, purses, and accessories for women, men, and children.
• Electronics: computers, monitors, DVD and VCR players, phones, radios, speakers, flat screen televisions less than five years old.
• Exercise equipment - All except NordicTrack Ski Machines
• Furniture: bedroom sets, living room, dining/family rooms, outdoor furniture, lamps, lighting, etc. 
• Home goods: linens, rugs, artwork, framed mirrors, baskets, decorative items.
• Hospital equipment: walkers, wheelchairs, crutches, etc.
• Kitchen items: dishes, flatware, glasses, pots and pans, bakeware, small appliances (toaster ovens, microwaves, coffeemakers, etc.).
• Major appliances: washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens, grills. Must be less than 10 years old, clean, and electric. No gas appliances.​
• Media: books, records, compact discs, DVDs. 
• Miscellaneous: unopened toiletries, barbecues, working lawnmowers, power tools, sports equipment, functional bicycles, musical instruments, VHS tapes (original copies only).
• Cars in our vehicle donation program.​

SORRY, WE CANNOT ACCEPT THE FOLLOWING
DONATION ITEMS AT OUR THRIFT STORES:

• Anything marked flammable, poisonous, or hazardous (including acids, cleaning supplies, pesticides, paints, oils, propane tanks, etc.)
• Anything that is ripped, stained, broken, fire/smoke damaged, smelly, infested or otherwise in unusable/unsellable condition.
• Automotive parts
• Building supplies: doors, vanities, cabinets, countertops, lumber, light fixtures, ceiling fans
• Copies of VHS tapes and blank VHS tapes
• Encyclopedias
• Entertainment systems
• Excessively large, heavy, or multipart furniture, such as waterbeds, hospital beds, pool tables, China cabinets, executive desks, etc.
• Gas Appliances
• Infant car seats and cribs
• Mattresses
• Metal furniture
• Metal hangers
• Mirrors without frames
• Pianos/organs
• Sleeper sofas
• Swing sets
• Weapons​
